Biohacker Atlas earns revenue through affiliate commissions. This page explains how that revenue never influences our editorial content.

Independence

Affiliate commissions do not influence our rankings, verdicts, or measured data. Period. Our editorial team operates independently from our revenue operations. No brand can pay for a higher ranking or a favorable verdict.

How we test

Every device is evaluated using our published testing methodology, which includes calibrated instrument measurements, regulatory status verification, and 3-year total cost of ownership calculation. Our methodology is public and versioned — any changes are logged in the methodology changelog.

Verdicts

We use four editorial verdicts:

• ◆ Recommended — we'd buy this with our own money for its stated purpose
• ◇ Conditional — good for a specific use case, with clearly stated caveats
• ✕ Avoid — significant issues found in testing, regulatory status, or value
• · Not yet tested — researched but not hands-on tested with instruments

Sample disclosure

Every review discloses whether the device was purchased by us, loaned by the manufacturer, or received as a gift. If a brand declines to send a sample, we note that on the category methodology page.

Corrections

We make mistakes. When we do, we correct them publicly at /corrections/ and update the affected review with a changelog entry. If you find an error, email [email protected].
